In Incoterms conditions were to improve clarity are grouped into four categories, differing in substance, beginning with the term

"E" - terms. Conditions under which the seller only makes the goods available to the buyer at the seller's own premises - (EXW);

"F" - terms. Conditions under which the seller must deliver the goods to a carrier appointed by the buyer (FCA, FAS and FOB);

"C" - terms. According to the seller has to contract for carriage, but without assuming the risk of loss or damage to the goods or additional costs due to events occurring after shipment and dispatch (CFR, CIF, CPT and CIP);

"D" - terms. Conditions under which the seller must bear all costs and risks needed to bring the goods to the country of destination (DAF, DES, DEQ, DDU and DDP).
